The Rip Curl Virtual Pro provided an exciting opportunity for surfers of all levels to compete by surfing their local breaks and logging their sessions using the Rip Curl SearchGPS Surf Watch and the SearchGPS app from the five day competition period running from May 25 to May 30 2024. Participants were scored in real-time based on wavelength, wave speed, and the number of waves surfed.

Casey C from South Africa was the ultimate winner of our second instalment of the Virtual Pro presented by Western Australia. Logging several surfs at pumping Jefferey’s Bay, Casey couldn’t believe he had won!

“Wow, I didn’t think I surfed enough to win the contest! My son was on me because he was surfing 5 hours every day telling me I was slacking… but he doesn’t have the watch to track his sessions haha” Casey said.

Casey will now enjoy the ultimate surf trip to Margaret River for him and his family.

The Rip Curl Virtual Pro is possible due to Rip Curl’s leading innovative technology, allowing surfers across the world the ability to plan, capture, and relive their surfing activity (privately or with friends) on their smartphone devices.
