Tourism Western Australia and Tourism Council WA have today unveiled a new industry recognition program, The Dream Collective Western Australia, that celebrates the state’s leading tourism operators and experiences.

The new initiative will promote and showcase WA’s best tourism products and aims to support and encourage advancements in business quality.

To be included in the program each year, operators will need to meet strict eligibility requirements and be successful in annual evaluations across a set of criteria covering customer reviews, website and online platforms, marketing and social media activity, training, accreditation and awards, with a special focus on sustainable and inclusive visitor experiences.

The Dream Collective operators will benefit from additional Tourism WA marketing, including social media and placements on westernaustralia.com, along with an official program logo for their own promotional use, and a tailored report highlighting areas for improvement.

The collaborative program will ensure tourism experiences are developed with a key focus on the visitor, while also remaining relevant and aligned with the state’s Walking On A Dream destination brand.

Tourism WA Acting Managing Director Steph Underwood said the program will strengthen Tourism WA’s ambition to support the development of a high-performing industry, one of the key pillars in the Western Australian Visitor Economy Strategy 2033 (WAVES).

“The Dream Collective supports WAVES’ goals of sustainability and inclusivity by promoting the development of environmentally-conscious and inclusive tourism experiences and acknowledging the efforts of those leading in these areas.”

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said The Dream Collective prioritises the promotion of tourism businesses which have reached the highest standards in emissions reduction and accessibility, as well as those who achieve the pinnacle of success through the WA Tourism Awards.

“The Dream Collective rewards businesses for improving their product and operations, for example businesses with the best online reviews and those which have reached the highest standards of Sustainable Tourism Accreditation.”
