Following its Australian debut in April, Scenic Eclipse II has successfully completed its first-ever exploration of the Northern Territory and Western Australia including its maiden Kimberley voyages. Scenic has set a new benchmark for exploration and ultra-luxury cruising in the region, immersing guests in the ancient wonders of the Kimberley with an unrivalled diversity of unique and extraordinary discovery experiences.
The inaugural Kimberley voyages have highlighted the unique advantages the Discovery Yacht has in exploring the region’s renowned landscapes and ancient indigenous legacy. Speaking of his first-hand experience on board, Jason Flesher, Director of Discovery Operations, Scenic Oceans said, “What we have achieved and created on these inaugural Scenic Eclipse II voyages has never been done in the Kimberley before. Guests have had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage and natural wonders, guided by our expert Discovery Team led by wilderness expert Mike Cusack. From incredible helicopter experiences, fishing and swimming at locations inaccessible on the coastline, like the top of Mitchell Falls, to beach landings by Zodiac, viewing ancient Indigenous rock art, and scenic flightseeing throughout the day. A hidden tropical outback jewel, the Kimberley is a must-do experience for travellers, and we are incredibly proud to have set a new benchmark for ultra-luxury exploration in this region.”
Alongside Jason, the Discovery Yacht’s Maritime Masters from Warner Bros. Discovery’s docuseries, Tom Götter, Vice President, Scenic Group Oceans Hotel Operations and Senior Captain Erwan le Rouzic were also on board, meticulously crafting and enhancing the guest experience for these inaugural voyages. From Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef, Top End and the Kimberley, the Maritime Masters have forged new paths, embarking on helicopter operations to scout the best excursion spots in advance and navigating the Discovery Yacht to unique, pristine areas, providing guests with unparalleled access to the region’s beauty. On board, they have elevated the guest experience with unique culinary experiences showcasing the local produce of each region, and a suite of activities from leisurely wellness experiences and entertainment. Guests also enjoyed a surprise performance by Cruise Directors Natalie and Bradley, with their rendition of “I Still Call Australia Home” shared joyfully from the helicopter deck with the dramatic setting of the Kimberley at sunset. Sharing their incredible experiences via social media the guests praised their delight of their immersive journey with Scenic Eclipse II.
