Global designers and key hotel portfolio executives will be revealing insights from Australia’s key hotel projects at Australia’s leading hotel architecture and interior design conference, Design Inn Symposium, which returns to SkyCity Adelaide on Tuesday 30 April 2024. The expertly crafted program brings together a stellar mix of speakers discussing cutting edge design concepts and promises to be a unique opportunity to connect and network with industry colleagues and business associates.
Design Inn delegates will get an exclusive look behind the curtain of Australia’s current major hotel projects, with key designers and project leads talking through the journey from concept to completion.
The Breakfast Masterclass kicks off the program, giving attendees valuable insight into the transformation of Salter Brothers’ Accor portfolio and to working with the team. According to Marie Colangelo, Project Director (Strategic Projects), “Major projects like the rejuvenation of an entire portfolio of hotels, bring their own challenges and opportunities. The masterclass offers a unique opportunity to share the various design and procurement approaches and the insights gained.”
Callie van der Merwe, multi award-winning Design Partnership Founder and Principal Architect, will present a fascinating Keynote and share cutting edge global trends in his keynote presentation, Design for Wellbeing. Callie will detail how spaces can promote well-being and healthy social interaction through Enviro Hacking – an evidence-based design approach.
Global Chief Design, Technical Services and Innovation Officer Accor Premium, Midscale & Economy brands, Damien Perrot, will be travelling from Paris to share his insights into the global hotel design landscape, covering key challenges and opportunities, in a one-on-one Q&A session.
Other highlights include Ennismore’s Director of Lifestyle Design, Pacific, Ellen Stenholm, and Indyk Architects Design Director, Shelley Indyk, who will talk through the highly anticipated Australian brand debut of 25hours; Chada Partner and Creative Director, Juliet Ashworth, will take delegates on a journey behind the historic walls of HM Prison Pentridge, where boutique hotel, The Interlude, lies; and RF CorVal Transactions Manager (Hotels), Maria Verner, will share insights into the journey to bring Marriott International’s playful lifestyle brand, Moxy, to the Australian market.
