Adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts are invited to a transformative Four-Day Navigation Retreat set amongst the untouched, ancient landscapes of Takayna/Tarkine in Lutruwita/Tasmania. From April 24th to 27th, 2024, participants will escape the ordinary and delve into the art of navigation, connecting deeply with the region’s remote beauty.

Discover the Wild

Led by expert instructor Caro Ryan, the retreat will be based at the serene Corinna Wilderness Village. The retreat offers a unique opportunity to learn traditional map and compass navigation techniques. Participants will gain confidence in reading and interpreting topographic maps, understanding the landscape and navigating harmoniously with nature.

Why Choose a Navigation Retreat?

This immersive experience builds upon Caro’s renowned two-day Introduction To Navigation Course In The Blue Mountains. It allows for a deeper exploration of course material and fosters community among participants. Whether you’re a seasoned bushwalker, hiker or outdoor enthusiast or you have little to no outdoor experience, this retreat promises to unlock the mysteries of the wilderness.

“If you’ve ever dreamed of finding your way in the bush, breaking through the invisible walls beside tracks and stepping off the well-formed trail, becoming an explorer and discovering your adventure, this retreat is for you,” says Caro.

What to Expect

Participants will embark on an intensive journey covering essential navigation skills such as map reading, compass use, timing and pace, and more. Like detectives in a story, attendees will learn to decipher clues, solve navigation challenges, and gain the confidence to explore off the beaten path.
