Fonty’s Pool in Manjimup
Block your diaries. Truffle Kerfuffle returns from 28 to 30 June 2024, held in the heart of Australian truffle country in Manjimup, a 3.5-hour drive south of Perth.
Manjimup, in Western Australia’s Southern Forests, is the most prolific truffle growing region in the Southern Hemisphere, producing about 85 per cent of all black truffles grown in Australia and fetching prices as high as $3,000 per kilogram.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism Rita Saffioti has welcomed the return of Truffle Kerfuffle and said it was a key event in the gourmet food calendar.
“Truffle Kerfuffle is a true regional food festival centred around Manjimup’s prized truffles, providing a platform for the rest of the Southern Forests produce to be promoted and enjoyed by the thousands of visitors to the region,” Minister Saffioti said.
“We’re always proud to support homegrown regional events like Truffle Kerfuffle, and I encourage everyone to experience this amazing event held in a beautiful pocket of Western Australia’s South West.”
Truffle Kerfuffle is a celebration of Manjimup’s “black gold”, sought-after by chefs across the globe for their consistent high quality, impossible-to-describe taste and unmistakable heady, earthy aroma.
With truffles at the centre of the weekend festival along with the region’s prized produce, from apples to potatoes, and 50 other kinds of fruit and vegetables, Truffle Kerfuffle is the ultimate winter escape for food lovers.
