50-Best-Logo-2024In a grand revelation that marks a new era in the culinary world, the latest rankings for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, extending beyond the elite to the notable 51-100 list for 2024, have been unveiled, courtesy of the esteemed sponsorship by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. This year’s announcement, a prelude to the much-anticipated live awards ceremony, shines a light on Asia’s vast gastronomic talent and innovative dining experiences, revealing 12 new entrants that promise to captivate the palates of gourmets globally.

The selection, crafted from the discerning votes of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy—a distinguished, gender-balanced collective of 318 luminaries encompassing food writers, critics, chefs, restaurateurs, and regional culinary aficionados—showcases a panoramic view of the continent’s dining excellence. From the vibrant streets of Singapore and Tokyo, each boasting eight acclaimed spots, to the diverse culinary landscapes of 16 cities across the region, this list is a testament to Asia’s rich culinary diversity and innovation.

Notably, Singapore and Tokyo lead the charge, highlighting their unassailable culinary prestige, with eight restaurants each gracing the list and introducing five new entries that underscore the cities’ ever-evolving gastronomic landscapes. Among the newcomers, Lamdre in Beijing has caught the eye of the culinary world, being honoured with the American Express One To Watch Award and making a noteworthy debut at No.97.

Bangkok’s culinary scene continues flourishing, with seven restaurants making the list, including the much-talked-about Haoma at No.90. Meanwhile, Hong Kong secures its spot on the culinary map with six entries. A new beacon of gastronomy, Howard’s Gourmet, making an entrance at No.100. Seoul, not to be outdone, boasts five places on the list, with Solbam (No.65), Kwonsooksoo (No.89), and Alla Prima (No.91) marking their debut, showcasing the city’s rich culinary heritage and innovation.

The list also celebrates diversity, with entries from Colombo, Gurugram, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Manila, New Delhi, Shenzhen, and Toyama, each contributing a unique flavour to Asia’s gastronomic mosaic.

The curtain will rise on the 2024 list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants at the awards ceremony on 26 March 2024 in Seoul, South Korea. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, this landmark event promises to celebrate culinary excellence, further enriching Asia’s vibrant dining scene.
