One of Canada’s most prolific authors and nature activists, Margaret Atwood, will be a guest speaker on an adventure-filled expedition voyage this August from Canada to Greenland, with savings of US$3410 per person available through Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, for bookings made by March 31, 2024.

Cruise Traveller’s new, 13-night ‘Greenland and Arctic Canada’ package will see guests journey between the two pristine destinations onboard Adventure Canada’s 198-passenger vessel, the Ocean Endeavour, which, because of her nimble size, will take nature lovers to remote and rarely visited hamlets, fjords and secluded wilderness regions.

The northern summer package begins on August 14, 2024, in Ottawa, Canada, with an included one-night stay in a hotel followed by a charter flight to Qausuittuq (Resolute) in Canada’s far north, for the start of a 12–night voyage to Greenland aboard Ocean Endeavour

Highlights of the journey include cruising past the glaciers and icebergs of Greenland, visiting the historic remnants of the Franklin Expedition in the Northwest Passage, seeing polar bears, walrus, muskox, seabirds, seals and whales in their natural habitats, and visiting Devon Island which, at over 50,000 square kilometres, is the largest uninhabited island on earth, and home to many geological and natural features.  Zodiac shore visits and excursions will provide an immersive insight into the traditional, local Inuit culture, including a moving cultural performance featuring drum dancing, throat singing and storytelling.

During the cruise, celebrated and award-winning Canadian writer, poet and nature lover, Margaret Atwood, will speak to guests about the natural treasures of the region and her career as a prolific author, with 66 books to her name. Maragret will also share her passion for the Arctic during shore tours.
