My career has involved flights, airports, and hotels and, therefore, flights and transfers to hotels. Rarely have I enjoyed airport arrival at my hotel in a matter of minutes! Minutes!
A typical scenario. You have had a long flight – you need rest, peace and quiet. Would you like to get from flight touchdown to your hotel room in under 30 minutes? Sounds wonderful? It is possible at Singapore’s Changi Airport if you are lucky enough to have booked Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Singapore, named the World’s Best Airport Hotel, conveniently located at Terminal 3 of Changi Airport. We left the aircraft, collected our bags, put them on a trolley, and walked, yes, to our hotel. After quick and friendly greetings, we were in our room sipping tea in 25 minutes! Why? As the name implies, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport hotel entrance is in terminal three!
Further welcome with a note: “It is our pleasure to welcome you to Crowne Plaza Changi airport! Rest, relax stay happy and stay healthy! “What an invitation. The first morning, we slept in, but a note under the door said: “Dear valued guest, as you did not wish to be disturbed, we have honoured your request. We’ll make it up to you.” Indeed, welcoming and reassuring notes.
Of course, there are other reasons to select this hotel on your next flight through Singapore Changi. This airport was just named the best in the world again. A massive indoor waterfall, vertical gardens, Michelin-worthy restaurants, and more modest eateries are just minutes away. It is a unique sightseeing attraction on its own. I have travelled so many miles that my wife sometimes catches me fastening an imaginary seat belt when on a bus or train after a trip! Some bus journeys you should, by the way! I try to minimise our travel weariness as much as possible on our travels. You are cutting out about an hour, not to mention the stress, by staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel at the airport. A hotel that has won the prestigious Skytrax Airport Hotel of the Year for 8 years and counting. Next, when you depart, check in on your phone and have another convenient departure by walking to your flight and cutting out all the preflight logistics. Drop your bags and enjoy shopping or sampling one of the many eateries.
This hotel is also convenient to The Jewel, a tropical wonderland where nature meets retail, just next to the hotel or explore downtown Singapore, just a 25-minute MRT ride away. Our relaxing stay was in a king bed Standard with a pool view. Perfect. The thirty-six sqm includes: Air conditioning / Bathtub / Desk / Ensuite bathroom / Lounge area / Pool views / Rain shower / Tea and coffee-making facilities, etc, etc. Nothing is missing.
Additionally, the hotel staff’s knowledge of Singapore was helpful and guided us to our MRT experiences and card purchases. A hotel will soon roll out extensive renovations to delight and satisfy every need. I’ll cover that in 2024.
Crowne Plaza Changi’s customer service is excellent and in an authentic, sincere Singapore style. I will cover that in another article as well. Its emphasis on serving is apparent when experienced.
