As the team at Baillie Lodges is both delighted and grateful to see the newly reopened Southern Ocean welcomed back by the world’s community of travellers, the collection of seven luxury lodges is pleased to announce a new initiative designed to offer mateship and connection to its regional community partners.
The Baillie Lodges Spirit of Mateship program is a new, ongoing initiative for the collection of luxury lodges to raise funds for nominated community, health, education and conservation organisations in each of the lodge’s locations.
As part of the program, Baillie Lodges will auction three-night stays at each lodge, with all proceeds from the winning bids pooled and divided equally amongst the seven chosen community organisations. The initiative will run biannually starting in February this year, offering guests a chance to contribute to the people and places in which they holiday.
The associations chosen as beneficiaries across the Baillie Lodges properties are:
- Kangaroo Island Country Education Fund: Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island
- Maggie Beer Foundation: The Louise, South Australia’s Barossa Valley.
- Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council: Longitude 131, Uluru Kata-Tjuta
- Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation: Silky Oaks Lodge, Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest
- Lord Howe Island Museum: Capella Lodge, Lord Howe Island
- Greening Taupo: Huka Lodge, New Zealand
- Redd Fish Restoration Society: Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, Vancouver Island.
The first Spirit of Mateship auction goes live at midday (AEDT) on February 28, 2024 and will remain open for five days. To join the auction, click here.
Baillie Lodges Chief Operating Officer Craig Bradbery said the company was grateful for the ongoing support of the broader community and was keen to share the properties’ successes with local associations to offer meaningful support.
“Over the decades, Aussies have become known for their mateship, for working together alongside our mates. The Baillie Lodges’ Spirit of Mateship program is designed to reflect just that sentiment and our commitment to working with the community ongoing,” Mr Bradbery said.
