Frenchman’s Reef recently hosted a grand opening celebration, officially commemorating the opening of The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef and Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman’s Reef, Autograph Collection following an extensive $425 million rebuild project. The celebration was a dazzling showcase of the reimagined Caribbean destination, featuring lively entertainment, exceptional food & beverage, and more in support of local charitable endeavors.

Special guests U.S. Virgin Islands Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and Hon Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner of Tourism, joined the Marriott International brand and property owners Fortress Investment Group, which acquired the properties in 2021 and made critical investments to make the reopening possible. Aimbridge Hospitality, the world’s largest third-party hotel management company, oversaw the extensive renovation project and operates both resorts.

“We are bringing Frenchman’s Reef into a new era, with a renewed focus on an immersive guest experience,” said Joe Gould, Managing Director of Fortress Investment Group. “With these two world-class resorts officially open to guests, we are ready to welcome the world to Frenchman’s Reef. This is a destination unlike any other, and we are committed to creating memorable moments for our guests to explore and unwind through outstanding service, exceptional amenities, and new restaurant and bar concepts that offer a true taste of the destination.”

Guests were welcomed through the doors for an unforgettable evening that transitioned across both resorts, featuring whimsical decor, bountiful culinary activations at the on-site restaurants, and a sumptuous “Taste of Frenchman’s Reef” experience at the outdoor spa pool. Live music and entertainment presented the local sounds of island talent Broheem with Love and DJ Cypha, alongside an elaborate fireworks display.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation by Frenchman’s Reef of a $20,000 donation to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Education, in support of local causes benefiting island youth. Frenchman’s Reef and its stakeholders reinforced their commitment to the growth and development of local public high school programming that helps provide a pathway to careers in hospitality, highlighting a partnership with Career & Technical to provide internships on-property in 2024.

Officially open and welcoming guests to both resorts, Frenchman’s Reef invites visitors to become immersed in a quintessential island experience. For more information about Frenchman’s Reef and to book a stay, please visit www.frenchmansreefstthomas.com or call +1 340-249–0100.
