Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) has once again been recognised for its unwavering commitment to customer value as it proudly announces it has been awarded the prestigious Mozo Experts Choice Awards 2024 for Exceptional Value in two categories: Medical Only Travel Insurance and Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance.

The Mozo Experts Choice Awards have been helping consumers make informed purchase decisions for the past ten years. The extensive award selection process evaluates thousands of products via a rigorous valuation process by its panel of expert and experienced judges, so making the winners list is testament to SCTI’s dedication to providing outstanding value and quality in the competitive travel insurance market.

Jo McCauley, CEO at SCTI, expressed her gratitude and excitement about the recent recognition: “We are thrilled to receive the Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Exceptional Value in Medical Only and Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance. This acknowledgment reaffirms our commitment to delivering exceptional service and value to our customers. We consistently strive to exceed expectations, and this recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”

SCTI launched its International Medical Only product in October 2022. Designed for the budget-conscious traveller it covers medical expenses only, giving travellers cost-effective options while still providing peace of mind during their overseas adventures.

SCTI’s Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance is perfect for the frequent traveller. It covers an unlimited number of return journeys overseas, over a period of 12 months, potentially providing savings to travellers that are planning on taking several trips overseas a year.

“It’s fantastic to see that we’ve received recognition for two very different products within our portfolio. Illustrating that the quality and value of our product offerings span a range of consumer needs – from the budget conscious to the more discerning traveller”, says McCauley.

“With the cost of living such a concern for so many, we’re especially delighted to receive recognition for the quality and value of our International Medical Only. On the other end of the spectrum our Annual Multi-trip Travel Insurance has also come out on top for value, when compared to similar products in the market, which reflects our continuous efforts to prioritise the needs and satisfaction of our customers.”

“The Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Travel Insurance were launched in 2015 to make it easier for Australians to find the best travel insurance policy, without having to compare dozens of quotes,” says Mozo money expert Rachel Wastell. “Southern Cross Travel Insurance has been recognised for offering exceptional value insurance for travellers four times since the awards began, making them a worthy recipient and top choice for affordable travel cover.”

This recent recognition adds to SCTI’s impressive list of award wins, including Canstar, Finder and ITIJ, showcasing the company’s consistency in delivering top-notch travel insurance solutions. It also remains the #1 rated travel insurer by Australians on the customer review website ProductReview. SCTI remains dedicated to enhancing the overall customer experience by providing comprehensive coverage at competitive price and these recent awards reinforce its reputation as a trusted partner for travellers seeking reliable insurance coverage.

As part of its commitment to excellence, SCTI is continually reviewing its products and services to ensure its customers receive the best possible value and experience.

In April last year, it relaunched its International Comprehensive policy (previously known as TravelCare), to include additional pet care at a kennel or cattery if return travel is delayed, with $100 per day up to $1,000 per paying person, additional childcare expenses for parents or caregivers delayed in their return home – again with $100 per day up to a total of $1,000, rental vehicle excess benefit was doubled and increases were also made to the amount available for emergency dental treatment.

SCTI also introduced cruise cover as an optional ‘add on’ to its international and domestic policies and in October 2022 it launched an International Medical Only policy, expanding its product range to include a lower cost international travel insurance policy for travellers only seeking cover for medical expenses.
