As anticipation grows ahead of Taylor Swift’s much-awaited Australian tour, a world-leading bartender has crafted a series of cocktails inspired by the pop icon to deliver Swifties the beverages of their “wildest dreams”.
The Midnight Martini, Lover Cosmo, and Cruel Summer Spritz have been designed as the perfect preconcert beverage, or as a way for fans who missed out on tickets to “shake it off” and toast the superstar’s Eras tour Down Under.
Starting with a “blank space”, Allara Global Hospitality Trainer and award-winning Mixologist Marco Nunes crafted the cocktails, each inspired by a particular Tay Tay lyric.
“These cocktail creations are a ‘love story’ of taste and sound and I hope Swifties can have a bit of fun making them,” Marco said.
To ensure they “never go out of style”, the cocktails are simple enough to make at home, using ingredients easily found in supermarkets, bottle shops or Spotlight stores, like vodka, cherries, cranberry juice, and edible glitter dust.
The Midnight Martini is made from vanilla vodka, Chambord with shiny metallic black dust that emotes the dark and moody tone of the Midnights Album. Lyrical Inspiration: “Meet Me at Midnight.”
The Lover Cosmo is made from Ciroc Passion Vodka, the strawberry aperitif Chamberyzette, and cranberry juice, with the floral pink colour a homage to her romantic “Lover” album cover. Lyrical inspiration: “Take me out, take me home. You’re my lover.”
The Cruel Summer Spritz is made from Prosecco, passionfruit soda and Aperol, and reflects the reddish glow of a long hot summer. It’s also a nod to her signature red lipstick. Lyrical inspiration: “It’s a cruel summer with you.”
“These drinks are about being ‘fearless’– having fun with flavour, dancing to your favourite Taylor Swift song, and just experiencing your ‘wildest dreams’.”
Taylor Swift, who has just made Grammy’s history as the first artist to win Album of the Year four times, plays her first Australian concert at the MCG on February 16.
