Andrew Swift Musters up as 2024 Ambassador

A longterm connection to the Gympie Muster and a passion for the festival has landed Australian country artist, Andrew Swift, the honour of 2024 Gympie Music Muster Ambassador.

It is the spirit and atmosphere of this iconic celebration of music and community that drew the Golden Guitar winner to the festival and ensures he returns at every opportunity.

Andrew Swift, whose achievements in the Australian country music scene have earned him widespread recognition, is excited about taking on the role.

“Of course, I’d love to be involved in this fantastic event, especially considering my history with it,” he said.

Having participated in the Muster’s talent search in 2015, Andrew fondly recalled the fun progressions in his journey, from the emerging artist showcase to sharing a set time with Gretta Ziller two years later and then having his own spot two years ago.

“This year, to be named the ambassador is truly an honour,” he said.
“Whenever I come up, I make sure I camp because I love the whole vibe of it; camping means immersing yourself in it all.”

A crucial element of the Muster’s charm is its picturesque location in the heart of the Amamoor Creek State Forest and the longterm friendships it fosters.

“I’ve got friends who do the rope-off the month before and then commute to Brisbane for work,” he said.
“It caters to families as well as people who want to have a drink and have a good time; the Muster ticks all the boxes and I feel that’s what the festival does incredibly well.”

In his role as ambassador, Andrew is set to play a pivotal role in the lead-up to the event and will be actively involved on the ground throughout the Muster.

“I’m so proud to be the ambassador for something that I love,” he said.

“I’m always telling people to go to Gympie and put it on their bucket lists. To be an ambassador for something I’m already passionate about, is an exciting moment.”

Gympie Music Muster CEO Greg Cavanagh is excited to have the award-winning artist on board.

“We are thrilled to have an artist of Andrew’s calibre represent the Gympie Music Muster,” he said.

“His genuine love for the event and his passion for sharing it with others make him a perfect fit for this role.”
