Flip Insurance, Australia’s first provider of on-demand accidental injury insurance backed by HCF Life, has announced the launch of Flip Roaming, extending its award-winning insurance model to Australians travelling abroad.
In keeping with Flip’s commitment to simple and flexible insurance, for $80 a week, travellers can switch on accidental injury cover for (almost) every adventure and sport they undertake overseas. Flip Roaming is available to Australians travelling in Japan, Canada, Indonesia, Fiji, UK, European Union countries, Switzerland, and Norway.
The news comes in line with the resurgence of international travel post pandemic and research* revealing that a significant number of Australian travellers, particularly those under 30, would leave Australia without the protection afforded by appropriate travel insurance.

If an accidental injury does occur, Flip Roaming customers can claim quickly and easily online or through the app. Across all of Flip’s products, nearly half (48%) of eligible claims are paid on the same day. Customers can claim up to $20k for the costs of overseas medical care plus up to $50k additional recovery cash depending on the severity of their injury.
Paid straight into your bank account, this recovery cash can be used towards unexpected costs such as out-of-hospital medical supplies and knock-on costs like food delivery or additional transport arrangements.
Unlike traditional travel insurance, you don’t need to purchase cover before you jet off. If you're undertaking adventure activities while overseas, you can easily turn your cover on in minutes.
Or if you’re feeling organised, cover can be scheduled up to 12 months ahead with full refund options should you change your plans before it activates.
