This summer it will be possible to fly directly from Copenhagen Airport to Atlanta in the USA. On 17 June, SAS opens a new route from Copenhagen to the capital of the state of Georgia, and Copenhagen Airport strengthens its position as Northern Europe’s most important traffic hub.
Atlanta is often called the capital of the Southern States, and the American metropolis has a lot to offer – from great experiences in culture and history to impressive restaurants and leading sports teams.
On June 17, SAS expands its route network in the USA and opens a daily route from Copenhagen to Atlanta, which is the world’s busiest airport with an impressive 107 million passengers a year.
“It is fantastic news that SAS is adding another route to the USA. Atlanta is a huge airport with good connections to the rest of North America, so many passengers will be happy. This applies to both Danes and Northern Europeans who want to go to the USA , but also the many Americans who want to go to Denmark and the rest of Europe,” says Peter Krogsgaard, commercial director at Copenhagen Airport.
Even better connections to North America
The route to Atlanta is SAS’s 10th route to North America in the upcoming summer traffic program from Copenhagen. In total, four airlines will operate 13 direct routes from Copenhagen to North America over the summer.
“The route to Atlanta means that there will be even better connections between Denmark and North America, and this gives Copenhagen Airport an even better position as an important traffic hub. We are very satisfied that more airlines are choosing Copenhagen and that the existing companies are expanding the route network” , says Peter Krogsgaard, commercial director at Copenhagen Airport.
The first flight with SAS to Atlanta is on 17 June 2024. There will be daily departures with a modern Airbus A330-300, which has room for 266 passengers.
