In an era marked by transformation and growth, Radisson Hotel Group has set an impressive new benchmark in 2023, adding over 30,000 keys to its international portfolio. This milestone marks the most significant expansion in the Group’s history, evidencing a nearly 50% increase in business since the initiation of its transformative plan in 2018.
2023 has been a landmark year for Radisson Hotel Group, characterized by unprecedented growth. With over 30,000 keys added through openings and signings, the Group’s iconic Radisson Blu brand solidified its position as Europe’s largest upper upscale brand for the twelfth consecutive year.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, shared his gratitude and optimism, stating, “We are grateful to our owners and colleagues who helped us achieve a strong 2023 with more than 250 signings and openings worldwide. This is our highest ever achievement. We expect 2024 to echo the success of 2023, with a focus on innovation, adapting to the ever-changing environment, and creating more opportunities for our owners and guests.”
The year’s achievements were not limited to numeric growth. Radisson’s strategic expansion saw the opening of significant properties across key destinations. Hotel Berlin, Berlin, the Group’s inaugural Radisson Individuals property in the German capital, marked its entry with over 700 rooms and suites. The brand’s expansion reached Paris and Thailand, while in India, two new Radisson Individuals properties were launched, further cementing the Group’s presence.
The Radisson Collection brand continued its upward trajectory, marking its entry into India, Nigeria, Egypt, and Lithuania. Notable openings included the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, enhancing the Group’s Italian portfolio.
2023 also saw the accelerated global growth of the premium lifestyle art’otel brand in partnership with PPHE. This expansion added a unique blend of art and lifestyle to the Group’s brand portfolio, totalling ten distinct brands.
A notable chapter in the Group’s history was the opening of the flagship Radisson Blu Hotel at Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart and a new Radisson Blu hotel in Paris’s Triangle project, designed by the acclaimed architects Herzog & de Meuron.
The Radisson brand also witnessed substantial growth, with nearly 40 properties added to its portfolio. This included the largest hotel in Zurich and new properties in the UK, Réunion, Budapest, and Baku. The Group expanded its presence in India by opening Radisson Hotel Sonamarg, the seventh hotel in the Kashmir region.
The vibrant Radisson RED brand marked its entry into Serbia, Helsinki, and Georgia and announced a new signing in Thailand. These openings underscore the brand’s bold and social hospitality approach.
Resorts have become increasingly integral to the Group’s strategy, with new signings in Greece, India, and the Philippines and planned expansion for 2024.
The Group’s commitment to excellence and sustainability was acknowledged through prestigious awards, including being named the third-best employer worldwide in the Travel and Leisure industry by Forbes Magazine and receiving the Sustainable Business Award at the Global Travel Hall of Fame.
