The Nouméa Féérie, held from the 1st of December to the 1st of January, transforms the country’s capital into a magical wonderland with vibrant Christmas lights, a majestic fir tree, and a range of free shows and events. With nightly performances at the bandstand, featuring circus acts, theatre, and musicals by both local talents and international artists from Catalonia, Australia, and Mexico.
Taking place from the 9th of December to the 31st at Place des Cocotiers, the Festival of Light will dazzle you with a vibrant and colourful light show that you won’t want to miss. Throughout the Festival of Light, Place des Cocotiers and City Museum will be adorned with lights, and various activities including ground mapping, artificial snow, and a magical ice container with a temperature of -15° are set to delight visitors.
Santa Claus will also be heading to the Nouméa Féérie, arriving at Place des Cocotiers on the 24th of December to take note of your Christmas wishlist, with children able to drop off their letters in a special mailbox at Place de la Marne.
The New Year’s Eve celebration features a spectacular fireworks display at Sainte-Marie that’s visible from the artificial islet, creating a breathtaking symphony of lights and colours that reflects over the tranquil waters of the lagoon. What a way to start the coming year!
