Suvarnabhumi Airport first Midfield Satellite Building, known as SAT-1In a historic move signalling a promising future for aviation in Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Airport poised the inauguration of its latest marvel, the SAT-1 terminal, on 28 September 2023. This remarkable feat sets the stage to surge the airport’s annual passenger turnover from an impressive 45 million to an astounding 60 million.

This terminal launch is part of Suvarnabhumi Airport’s ambitious phase-two developmental strategy. A well-calibrated blueprint that envisions a collection of initiatives designed to boost the airport’s capacity in the face of burgeoning passenger and air traffic demands.

To underscore the airport’s readiness to navigate this new chapter, the General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Mr. Kittipong Kittikachorn, orchestrated an exclusive media preview on 25 September 2023. Dominating the departure hall’s third floor is a pair of illustrious Himmapan elephants – a testament to Thailand’s unparalleled artistic mastery. Alongside, a garden-themed third floor encapsulates the essence of ancient Thai mythology, featuring intricate depictions of legendary creatures.

On entering the second floor, passengers are greeted by a lush garden interspersed with Thai arts and culture. A symphony of mini puppet theatres, Khon masks, and other timeless artifacts is integral to this narrative.
