Gearing up for an unlimited supply of fun
Thrill-seekers can put their go-karting skills to the test at HyperDrive. The region’s first gamified electric go karting circuit is spread over a three-level, 308m-long, 5.3m-wide indoor circuit, featuring thrilling straightaways and 14 hair-raising turns for an action-packed experience.
In the coming months, HyperDrive will be the first in Asia to offer the ‘Game of Karts’ experience, where virtual racing meets real-life go-karting. Enhanced with sound and lighting effects, drivers will enter a virtual gaming realm by collecting bonuses as ‘weapons’ to sabotage their competitors or as ‘boosts’ to turbo-charge their race to the podium.
HyperDrive is powered by a fleet of 36 eco-friendly electric go-karts that come in senior, junior and tandem kart configurations. With each play session accommodating up to 12 karts at a time, the karts have a top speed of 30km/h for the novice level and 50km/h for the advanced level.
Located a few steps away is UltraGolf, an 18-hole mini-golf course and The Palawan Dog Run, an 800 square foot secured green space, ideal for smaller and medium sized puppers.
Lastly, those looking to soak up the sun and sea can seek thrills and spills at HydroDash, Singapore’s first floating inflatable playground.
Tantalising both tastebuds and senses
Families can enjoy a day under the sun at Splash Tribe, a premier family-oriented beach club. The all-in-one water playground experience features a sandcastle-themed wet-play zone equipped with water slides, water spray features and dumping buckets. Guests can choose between the daybeds, sun loungers or private two-storey gazebos for beachside respite.
Those seeking a touch of exclusivity can visit +Twelve – the 290-seater beach club features distinctive terraced architecture and 12 private cabanas with personal plunge pools and unobstructed views of Palawan Beach. Patrons can get their drinks fixed by +Twelve’s in-house mixologists at the swim-up bar, and on weekends, enjoy sets by in-house or guest DJs.
Visitors to The Palawan @ Sentosa can also take their tastebuds on a culinary adventure at The Palawan Food Trucks. The 10 eclectic food trucks will each feature cuisine from various parts of the world from Mexican tacos to crowd-pleasing Korean fried chicken.
Diners can also look forward to a taste of the Mediterranean at the upcoming Greek restaurant, Blu Kouzina, set to open early October 2023. With a focus on grilled fresh seafood specialties including whole fish and lobsters, the menu will also feature signature dishes such as lamb chops and sharing platters.
Sustainability at its Heart
The Palawan @ Sentosa has been developed to enable visitors to enjoy themselves sustainably in line with various environmentally friendly initiatives being piloted in the precinct. Crew uniforms and towels at Splash Tribe and +Twelve are made from a mix of recycled ocean plastic and organic cotton, obtained from OceanR, a company specialising in carbon-neutral clothing. In addition to HyperDrive’s fleet of electric Go-Karts with zero tailpipe emission, all food and beverage items at The Palawan Food Trucks will be served in 100% biodegradable and compostable foodware procured from Singapore-based TRIA.
Where feasible, waste materials are also given a second life, such as the wooden and rubber tyre furniture at The Palawan Food Trucks, and rocks excavated during The Palawan @ Sentosa’s construction, which are now used to demarcate the beach and the precinct. These environmentally friendly efforts at The Palawan @ Sentosa support the Sustainable Sentosa strategy roadmap to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.
