Air Vanuatu, the national carrier of Vanuatu, has revealed a slew of schedule updates across its network to the benefit of its guests, including improved connection timings and increased services.

Updated BNE-VLI connections

Working closely with airport officials in Brisbane and Port Vila, Air Vanuatu has secured an improved schedule to allow for more convenient connections to and from the Sunshine State’s capital.

Starting 2nd November, the BNE-VLI service will now depart at 1pm on Tuesday and 10.30am on Thursday and Saturday. The VLI-BNE service will depart on Monday at 4.45pm, Friday at 2.20pm and Sunday at 9am.

 New AKL -VLI service

Also on November 2nd, Air Vanuatu will add a fourth weekly service to its New Zealand schedule.

Operated by Solomon Airlines on behalf of Air Vanuatu and departing VLI-AKL on Thursday at 3.15pm returning AKL-VLI on Friday at 12pm, it will connect New Zealand and Vanuatu four days a week and will increase capacity between the two nations by 300 seats per week.

The announcement comes just months after the carrier revealed the addition of its Monday/Tuesday AKL/VLI service and will boost the carrier’s roster to boast 1,280 seats per week or 66,560 seats per year.

Air Vanuatu acting CEO Joseph Laloyer says the airline is confident the Brisbane schedule updates will be welcomed by travellers to and from Port Vila.

“Previously, connection timings to and from Brisbane to Port Vila have seen travellers arrive late in the evening in both cities, meaning onward connections can only be taken the following day. Now, passengers can enjoy earlier arrival timings that align well with domestic flights,” said Mr Laloyer.

“We are dedicated to providing our guests with the best possible service we can, which includes the onboard experience as well as aspects like connectivity and optimal arrival and departure times. This new schedule is a testament to this, and we look forward to debuting it in November.”
