This news broke out as Bonza took steps to deepen its network, connecting the Gold Coast with its current destinations across Australia. A noteworthy fact about the new offering is that eight of these eleven routes have no other airline services.

Prospective customers can look forward to reserving their tickets via the exclusive Bonza app, with prices starting from a very affordable $49 to $79 per person for one-way tickets. The initiation of the Gold Coast base is anticipated to spur economic activity while enabling residents of Bonza’s existing destinations to enjoy low-cost flights to the Gold Coast for holidays or reunions. Furthermore, the company’s CEO, Tim Jordan, expressed his optimism about the new base, adding that it opens up opportunities for South Brisbane, Northern NSW regions, Ballina, and Byron Bay residents to explore their country’s landscapes without breaking the bank.

While the new routes have been set, Bonza still has a few tricks up its sleeve, with plans to unveil additional destinations from the Gold Coast when the time is right. These locations will connect communities nationwide, fulfilling Bonza’s mission to provide affordable flights to underserved and unserved markets.

BonzaBonza’s latest expansion phase will roll out 70 additional weekly flights, translating to almost 700,000 extra passenger seats a year into and out of Gold Coast Airport. The decision has bolstered Queensland and 11 other Bonza destinations, such as Avalon and Albury, witnessing record growth.

Amelia Evans, CEO of Queensland Airports Limited, voiced her support for the partnership between Gold Coast Airport and Bonza, noting its potential to boost the local economy. Introducing these routes, some entirely new is expected to attract more tourists to the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales region, providing an opportunity to showcase their areas while also opening connections for locals.

Bonza will create over 100 direct jobs with the new base, with recruitment expected to start soon. Bonza will initially collaborate with a wet lease provider to navigate the challenging global aircraft supply landscape. This partnership will allow families to connect and vacation during Christmas and school holidays.

Beyond increasing connectivity, this expansion will also support local Australian businesses as demand for products on Bonza’s all-Aussie menu is expected to grow with these new routes. Mr Jordan emphasized the company’s commitment to working with local communities and supporting their growth while expressing gratitude to the Gold Coast Airport and the broader Queensland Airports Limited team for their collaborative efforts in “bringing more purple to our skies.”
