Earlier this month, seven lucky agents from Australia and three from New Zealand were whisked away to Seattle and Washington State to embark on the first leg of their Brand USA Mega-Fam itinerary.
Whilst their time in Seattle and Washington State was short, the agents, and their Brand USA and Hawaiian Airlines hosts, could have spent more time exploring just some of the highlights of the Pacific North-West.
Starting in Seattle, the team explored the Seattle Center, home to the iconic Seattle Space Needle, the legendary Museum of Pop Culture, and the mesmerising Chihuly Garden and Glass before eating their way through the colourful Pike Place Markets. Some even ventured to check out the home of the original Starbucks.
Outside of the suburban cityscape of Seattle, the team took to the road to explore just one of Washington State’s breathtaking National Parks. As one of the USA’s most recognisable symbols, the spectacular Mt. Rainier provided the perfect backdrop for a snow-shoeing adventure amidst a thawing natural wonder. As just one of the region’s many outdoor adventure experiences, it’s little wonder agents like Flight Centre’s Alice Fisher, Helloworld Travel’s Olivia Nicolle, and House of Travel’s Leonie Paul were enamoured with just the taste of the region they were able to experience on their short few days.
“The PNW is a unique destination; we felt like we weren’t even in the USA. It’s a shame we didn’t have more time in Seattle as I would like to have explored more, but we certainly packed in a lot in the time we did have there,” Olivia Nicolle from Helloworld Travel Toowoomba Range.
“Washington State was an amazing place, equal parts natural beauty and cool, edgy city. One day we were visiting the incredible Chihuly Garden and Glass, eating our way through Pike Place Market and enjoying the Seattle summer on the harbour (cocktails in hand); the next, we walked on snow in the jaw-dropping Mt Rainier National Park. This amazing combination of culture and wilderness is why Washington State and Seattle should be on more U.S. itineraries. Aussies would love it,”
Alice Fisher from Flight Centre Broadway.
“Seattle and Washington state is underrated and should be on people’s lists as a must-see destination in the USA,” from Leonie Paul, House of Travel Blenheim NZ.
