Murray River Paddlesteamers has launched a flash sale offering savings of 20 per cent and a zero solo surcharge for all of its remaining overnight cruises this winter aboard its boutique riverboat, PS Emmylou.

As always, travel agents can earn a 10 per cent commission on all overnight sailing aboard the popular, 16-guest vessel.

The savings are for all three, four and seven-night overnight cruises until the end of August, 2023. Including the 20 per cent discount, twin-share fares this winter are now available from $1352 per person for a three-night sailing, $1840 per person for a four-night cruise and $3184 for a seven-night journey.

And in another big offer, a zero surcharge for solo travellers has cut the cost of a three-night cruise to $1690, a four-night sailing to $2300 and a seven-night journey to $3980.

Plus, all guests on sailings from July 1-23 this year will receive free tickets to see the spectacular Moama Lights Festival near Echuca which will see a sound and light show illuminate the Murray and surrounding redgums.

Cruise fares include return V/Line train trips from Melbourne or carparking in Echuca, all onboard meals, daily shore excursions, selected beers and wines with dinner and soft drink, bottled water and tea/coffee throughout the cruise and coach transfers during the cruise.

* The 20 per cent saving and zero solo surcharge offers are for bookings made by June 30, 2023.

Strong sales for 2023 and 2024 as demand grows for boutique cruising

Murray River Paddlesteamers Director Craig Burgess said there had been palpable rise in the popularity of boutique, small ship cruises, particularly since the pandemic.

“Our 2023 cruises are close to selling out so we’re keen to clear these final sailings for winter which is a fantastic time to enjoy a journey on the Murray with its misty mornings and mild, sunny days, “ Mr Burgess said. “Demand for our 2024 cruises is also very strong and we expect that to continue given the ease of travelling domestically verses the rising cost of overseas airfares. More Australians are snow seeking the effortless ambience, tranquillity  and personalised service available aboard smaller vessels like PS Emmylou.”
