ANA InterContinental Tokyo is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Janssen as General Manager of ANA InterContinental Tokyo, and Portfolio General Manager.
Michael Janssen, a German national, has over 25 years of experience with IHG Hotels & Resorts across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, and brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his new role.
As General Manager of ANA InterContinental Tokyo, overseeing 844 guest rooms, 22 banquet and meeting rooms, and 12 restaurants, including the Two Michelin Star Restaurant Pierre Gagnaire, he will be responsible for day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the hotel. Additionally, Michael Janssen will provide strategic support to ANA InterContinental Hotels in Okinawa, including ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort and ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Beach Resort.

Prior to joining ANA InterContinental Tokyo, Michael Janssen and his team successfully launched Kimpton Kitalay Samui, IHG’s first resort by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Southeast Asia, in 2022. He also served as the Area General Manager at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, overseeing a portfolio of resorts that included Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin, InterContinental Koh Samui Resort, and InterContinental Phuket Resort.
