Rex Airlines has today been honoured with the prestigious title of Best Regional Airline Australia & Pacific at the 2023 World Airline Awards hosted by Skytrax.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, expressed his congratulations to the management and staff of Rex Airlines, saying: “We congratulate the management and staff of Rex Airlines for this great
success at the World Airline Awards. Their achievement in being named Best Regional Airline Australia & Pacific is a fantastic accolade for the airline management and staff, which recognises
the product and service quality being delivered to passengers.”

Lim Kim Hai, Rex’s Executive Chairman, emphasised the significance of this recognition for the airline’s dedicated staff.

“Being voted as the best regional airline means so much to the 2,000 staff in the Rex Group as they go above and beyond every day in conditions that are still extremely challenging,” he said.

“COVID continues to impact airlines around the world. Despite the challenges, Rex has shown resilience and exceptional performance in its recovery efforts,” said Mr Lim.

Rex’s domestic jet network, launched in 2021 with a fleet of Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, has provided Rex’s regional customers with a new era of smooth travel connections and extremely competitive airfares across its domestic network of capital city and leisure destinations.

“We will continue to do everything we can to ensure that we connect regional Australia, today, tomorrow and well into the future,” Mr Lim added.

“We continue to work with as much determination to succeed, as the day we rose from the ashes of the Ansett collapse nearly 21 years ago.

“Our focus on customer service has never faltered and is the best in the business. This award says it all.”

“We will live up to this honour by maintaining our record for safety and reliability delivered with our trademark country hospitality,” he said.

The World Airline Awards, hosted by Skytrax, were held in Paris to coincide with the Paris Air Show. Established in 1999, the World Airline Awards are the most coveted quality accolades for
the airline industry, and are often referred to as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”.

Travellers across the globe take part in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the winners, and the awards are respected as a global benchmark of airline excellence.

The Survey and Awards Methodology is transparent and independent, and the Awards are not based on random algorithms of customer reviews that may provide distorted results, but decided
by a global, multi-language, extensively marketed customer “free vote” system.
