A visit to a small local trufferie, Quercus Truffles, is now available to guests of Sequoia Lodge.

The new experience offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a three-course truffle dinner in the Sequoia Lodge with truffles they have hunted themselves from the Quercus Truffles farm.

Quercus Truffles, in the Piccadilly Valley, forms part of the rural vista guests enjoy from the floor to ceiling windows of their suites at the Lodge.

Visitors to the farm can join the excitement of the hunt with the truffle dogs. The dogs are well trained to find ripe truffles, however, there no guarantees which adds to the excitement of truffle hunting. Unearthing truffles is a highly rewarding experience.

After the hunt, visitors return to the warm farmhouse and learn how to sort and clean the truffles, while enjoying a wine tasting and truffle hors d’oeuvre.

Upon returning to the Lodge, guests hand their truffles to Sequoia Head Chef Matt Rodgers to prepare a three-course truffle dinner.

The experience is offered three times per week, Tuesdays & Fridays (2pm), Sundays (11am) and lasts one and a half hours. Cost is $350 per person (no wine), or $430 with wine pairing.

The Sequoia Lodge offers a dedicated Winter Escape & Truffle Hunting package for $2,299
