Travellers who visit The Tasman this OFF Season, until 31 August 2023, will be able to enjoy special dining experiences only available this winter – from a Winter High Tea at Deco Lounge, Whisky tasting boards at Mary Mary, to homemade S’mores in Parliament Square.

Fuel Your Fire

As part of this overnight travel package travellers are invited to stay in the luxury of a Heritage Room, adorned with the captivating charm of historical Georgian details, elegant ambiance and restored fireplace; the ultimate haven to retreat to after experiencing the vibrant cultural festivities of Hobart during OFF Season. The package includes a locally made Waverley Mills Merino wool scarf for guests to use during their stay and take home.

For that warm up from within, guests will enjoy a Hot Toddy in their complimentary insulated flask from Mary Mary, the hotel’s intimate craft cocktail bar and spirit library with a modernist yet authentic approach, dedicated to the discovery of exceptional local ingredients for pairing with Tasmania’s finest spirits and liquors. They will receive breakfast at Peppina Pantry the following morning before heading out to explore.

S’mores in the Square

The ultimate winter delight that warms the soul and conjures feelings of nostalgia – guests are invited to gather around the warm ambiance of the campfire in Parliament Square, for complimentary S’mores infused with a Tasmanian twist using local ingredients. Available on Friday and Saturday nights of Dark MOFO from 8th June until 22nd June, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the dark as the hotels facade will be lit up in red whilst the electric festival unfolds.

Mary Had a Little Dram

Nothing warms the cockles like a smooth whiskey. Travellers are invited in to Mary Mary for a journey of the senses in a refined setting paying homage to a nostalgic era, reimagined with a contemporary touch. They will taste a selection of Tasmania’s finest velvety Whiskies as an esteemed bartender guides them through a journey of intrigue and discovery.

High Tea enthusiasts can choose from a thoughtfully curated collection of delights that celebrate the fresh bounty of Tasmanian produce, with an array of handcrafted tea to complement. Discover the alluring charm of The Deco Lounge, where guests are invited to gather in the captivating ambiance of a sophisticated residential setting, embracing panning views of Parliament Square from the terrace.

The Winter High Tea includes a glass of 2017 Clover Hill Vintage Cuvee Sparkling, Piper’s River, Tasmania and can be paired with an array of premium organic loose leaf teas from Storm & India.

Menu highlights include The Tasman Signature Lobster Roll which uses locally fished Southern rock lobster, served in a soft potato roll and topped with trout roe sourced from the Huon Valley and the Pear Tart, Panna Cotta and Religieuse – A classic French dessert consisting of 2 choux bun with Hazelnut praline & a gianduja Chantilly (a blend of chocolate and hazelnut origination from Italy)
