Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, has paired the otherworldly beauty of Antarctica with the awe-inspiring wonder of Iguazu Falls in a new luxury cruise and tour package to South America and the bottom of the world in November, 2024.
Curated in partnership with Ponant, the new adventure package offers substantial savings of A$18,260 for couples and less than half price fares for solo travellers for bookings made by July 8, 2023.
The great white continent of Antarctica is a bucket list destination for many Australians but Cruise Traveller’s exclusive package adds on a five-night mini tour embracing two of South America’s iconic experiences – mighty Iguazu Falls and the exotic and seductive Argentinian dance of tango.
Cruise Traveller’s 16-night cruise and tour package – ‘VIP Antarctica and Argentina’ – begins on November 27, 2024, with a night in Buenos Aires and then a flight to Ushuaia in southern Argentina where guests will board Ponant’s chic and sleek 264-guest exploration ship, Le Boreal, for an unforgettable, 10-night return voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula, with opportunities to explore and hike ashore with nature guides and see seals and penguins. Offering spectacular vistas of Antarctica’s snow-capped peaks, imposing glaciers and drifting icebergs, Le Boreal boasts a refined, yacht-like ambience as well as a fine dining restaurant and grill restaurant, panoramic lounge, theatre, library, pool, an expert expedition team and personalised service.
After returning to Ushuaia, guests will fly back to Buenos Aires for a two-night stay, including a tango dinner performance that celebrates Argentina’s world-famous dance. Return flights from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls are also included in the mini tour as well as two nights in a deluxe hotel near the falls and a guided tour to the majestic natural wonder, which boasts a massive wall of water 2.7km wide and 82m high that thunders into a canyon, giving rise to its local indigenous name, Iguazu, meaning ‘big water’. Guests then fly back to Buenos Aires for a final night’s stay, ending the holiday.
