TürkiyeThe vibrant city of Istanbul is set to become the centre of discussions on the future of healthcare meetings as it hosts The Future of Healthcare Meetings from June 6th to 8th, 2023. This prestigious event, jointly organized by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the Associations & Conference (AC) Forum, aims to bring together influential stakeholders in the medical sector, including ICCA and AC Forum members, association representatives, and industry leaders, to explore the evolving landscape of healthcare conferences and ensure their relevance for future generations.

The Future of Healthcare Meetings, a collaborative initiative between ICCA and AC Forum, is a multi-year series of signature events focusing specifically on the healthcare industry. Following the success of the inaugural face-to-face edition in Cannes, France, in July 2022, the event now moves to Istanbul, where it promises to offer numerous opportunities for advancing and transforming healthcare meetings. The Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) has played a crucial role in making this second edition possible.

One of the primary objectives of The Future of Healthcare Meetings Istanbul is to attract decision-makers from the world’s most critical medical congresses to Turkey. By doing so, the event aims to elevate the quality of healthcare meetings in the post-pandemic era and position Istanbul as a leading destination in this sector. Participants, including healthcare professionals, association leaders, and meeting suppliers, will collectively explore the necessary steps to organize engaging and relevant medical conferences, fostering high-level discussions and sharing valuable insights for the future.

ICCA, headquartered in Amsterdam, is a prominent umbrella organization in the congress and meetings industry, boasting over 1,100 members from nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide. With a rich history dating to its establishment in 1963, ICCA represents top-tier destinations and experienced suppliers in international meetings and events, specializing in operational logistics, transportation, and accommodation services. Its diverse membership includes city promotion and marketing offices, international convention agencies, hospitality service providers, and venues offering meeting facilities and accommodations. Through regional collaborations, ICCA fosters increased cooperation and communication among its members. Turkey, as a member state in the Mediterranean region, has signed a Destination Partnership Agreement with ICCA, solidifying their fruitful collaboration.

Meanwhile, the AC Forum is the only organization established by self-governing associations focusing on leadership and congress management. Free from commercial influences, the AC Forum facilitates the interprofessional exchange of best practices and ideas to advance association leadership and elevate congressional management to new heights.

The Future of Healthcare Meetings Istanbul is a gathering and a platform where industry stakeholders can discover innovative solutions and strategies for hosting effective and sustainable global health conferences. In a rapidly changing world, this event promises to shape the future of healthcare meetings, ensuring they remain dynamic, impactful, and instrumental in driving progress in the medical field.
