Victorinox, the renowned Swiss company famous for producing high-quality pocket knives and watches, has launched a new watch collection, the Victorinox Journey 1884, that pays tribute to the Swiss mountains and hiking culture. The Journey 1884 is not just a watch but the first step of a new journey for Victorinox watches, infusing the feeling of freedom and the energy of the Swiss mountains into everyday adventures.
Inspired by hiking on the spectacular ridge of the Swiss Alps, the Journey 1884 watch features a hand design replicating the Swiss hiking signs and a dial featuring the rough texture of a natural hiking path. The sporty rubber strap and the counterweight of the second hand, evoking the Swiss Army Knife, make it a perfect companion for hiking adventures. Moreover, the notch at 6 o’clock on the bezel looks as if it has been carved out by a sharp pocketknife, reflecting the industrial roots of the brand.
The collection has two versions: the sporty quartz and the more sophisticated automatic. The automatic version is inspired by urban adventures and city travel, featuring a prominent, highly tridimensional architectural dial and an elegant ceramic bezel echoing modern city skylines. The yellow on the automatic version pays tribute to the Swiss hiking signs, while the rough-textured centre part of the dial nods to the collection’s hiking roots.
To match any outfit or activity of the day, all the new Victorinox watches offer a wide selection of interchangeable straps made of paracord, rubber, leather, wood, and more. The innovative system makes it easy to change the straps without tools, giving every watch a personalized touch.
As a genuine Swiss brand with over a century of expertise in industrialization and steelworking, Victorinox is proud to say that its watches are designed, developed, tested, and manufactured by Victorinox in its factory, the Watch Competence Center in Delémont, Switzerland. The internal components of the watches are also produced in-house, making the brand unique and guaranteeing high quality and functionality. The watches come with a 5-year warranty, further testifying to the brand’s high-quality approach.
Victorinox is committed to the responsible use of resources, and the Journey 1884 watch collection reflects that commitment. The watch parts made of stainless steel 316L use a minimum of 50 per cent up to 90 per cent of recycled steel, and other recycled materials are used in the production process whenever possible. The equivalent of 20 per cent of the required electricity in the Victorinox watches manufacturing facility in Delémont is produced from solar panels on the roof. The waste heat from production facilities is also fed into the heat pumps for the heating and water heating systems through closed-loop cooling systems.
The Journey 1884 watch collection is now available on the official Victorinox website. The collection offers a unique blend of Swiss craftsmanship, durability, and sustainability, making it a perfect choice for adventurers who want to make a statement while exploring the outdoors.
