Maya Luxe, the largest luxury villa rental company in the Riviera Maya, has appointed Meghann Cundall as its Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Cundall will work closely with Maya Luxe’s owners, Steph Farr and Darren Rushin, to execute a strategy that will result in Maya Luxe increasing its brand recognition, as well as villa owners trusting the company to rent their homes to visiting guests.
A key role of Cundall’s will be property management, with owners depending on Maya Luxe to manage their homes and oversee the quality maintenance of their properties while they’re away. This will require a key insight into both the properties and owners, which Cundall has developed through her previous positions in the villa rental industry at companies like Luxury Retreats, Airbnb, and Carimo, as well as managing the privately owned villa estate Baraka Point.
Prior to Maya Luxe, Cundall was General Manager at Carimo, where she oversaw the entire scope of the business, including operations, business development, financial reporting, guest & owner experiences, and real estate. This included marketing initiatives to attract new buyers to St. Martin real estate, implementation of new guest procedures, and crisis management during Hurricane Irma.
“Steph Farr has been a longtime friend and colleague since 2004, and I’m excited to work with her again,” said Cundall. “I’m also thrilled to bring my years of experience in the travel and hospitality industries to the Riviera Maya. Maya Luxe’s villas offer the same exceptional standard as hotels but with their own uniqueness, as no two villas are exactly the same. Our villas also provide the added benefits of privacy and personalized guest services.”
