Demand for the first Japan cherry blossom season since pre-Covid is at an all-time high with Japan travel specialists, InsideJapan hitting capacity for travel before 12 April 2023.
Since Japan reopened its borders completely in Autumn 2022, InsideJapan, which is part of the Inside Travel Group, has seen the demand for Japan travel soar, with particular interest around the iconic cherry blossom season in late March and early April.
Inside Travel Group Marketing Manager Harry Sargant said “people really do seem to want to experience Japan for themselves, and now the borders are open we are picking up where we left off.”
Harry added, “Spring and the ‘hanami’ blossom season have always been popular but this year has proven more so. Places such as Kyoto actually fill up their accommodation as international and domestic tourists head to the cultural capital.
This year we also have additional factors in play such as the diminishing number of flights, along with the pent-up demand which has meant InsideJapan blossom bookings are at capacity,” he said.
However, whilst the main blossom areas might be at capacity, InsideJapan offers a multitude of other ways to experience the blossoming pink magic.
Harry said, “There are many options still open for people that want to experience Japan in 2023. The northern Tohoku region and island of Hokkaido see the cherry trees bloom slightly later in late April and early May. People flock to the ‘Golden Route’, however there are other incredible places across Japan, full of heritage and their own very Japanese character – Kanazawa being one with its samurai districts and one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan.”
“May is also an underrated month with good weather and gardens in full bloom. It is the autumnal months that really give spring a run for their money in terms of beauty as the ‘Koyo’ autumn leaf viewing season kicks in from October to early December lighting up mountainsides and temple gardens with fiery reds and orange leaves. The winter months offer clear skies – a veritable winter wonderland with snow covering much of the country,” he said.
Harry continues “we want to highlight just how fantastic Japan is throughout the year. It is an experience not just for spring and we do our utmost to ensure that visitors get the best Japan they can, whenever they travel.”
InsideJapan is continuing to tailor cultural adventures from late spring and has just launched their 2024 small group tour dates for Japan.
