Thai AirAsiaX premium-flatbedThe new services will bolster the airport’s network of more than 30 destinations in Asia, providing travellers with a greater opportunity to take advantage of low-cost international air travel in the lead-up to the busy Christmas period.

“Bangkok is a fantastic city with great connectivity to the regions of Thailand and is an incredibly popular destination for Australian leisure and business travellers. “Thais love Australia, Australians love Thailand, and we are confident these new services will prove popular. Thai AirAsia X’s arrival in Sydney is supported by the NSW Government’s Aviation Attraction Fund. It is the second new international service to be confirmed since the fund was announced in October 2021.

Mr Tassapon Bijleveld, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Thai AirAsia X, commented that Thailand and Australia had maintained strong relations for over 70 years, noting Australia is one of the leading travel destinations for Thai tourists. The service will operate on the Airbus 330 configured with 12 business class and 365 economy seats.

Sydney has so much to offer in terms of economy, tourism and education, making it a prime addition to Thai AirAsia X’s growing network.
