Webinar“There are several simple steps that anyone coming into Australia and especially those coming from countries where foot-and-mouth exists, including Bali and Indonesia, can and must take to protect Australia’s livestock industries and avoid a flow on effect that could cost Australia more than $80 billion if there were an outbreak here.”

“This webinar is critical for all travel professionals, frontline staff through to owners who are sending clients to Indonesia, and I encourage anyone who hasn’t yet locked the details in to do so.”

“Australia’s travel professionals are proud to be helping keep Australia safe from foot-and-mouth disease as we work together with the Department of Agriculture, Federal Agriculture Minister Murray Watt and Federal Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell to raise awareness.”

“Closing the highly important Indonesian travel corridor at this stage would be a very blunt measure with massive economic and cultural damage for the Australian marketplace and the Australian Travel sector when there are still prevention measures being fully deployed.”

AFTA CEO Dean Long urges all frontline staff, managers and owners sending clients to Indonesia to take advantage of the 2 pm AEST webinar, which will provide advice on: What information to pass on to travellers, particularly when travelling to Indonesia.

AFTA has shared the Australian Government’s Factsheet “Keep Australia foot-and-mouth disease free” with all members for clients travelling to and from Indonesia and is promoting it on social media.

Australia’s Travel professionals have jumped at the opportunity to learn more about how to help keep foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) out of Australia with strong registrations for the 3 August AFTA/Department of Agriculture webinar.

“Australians must understand and take seriously this is a significant threat.”
