The World Cup is waiting for us just around the corner, and it seems as though Qatar is the ideal country to host this year’s spectacle.
Qatar has some truly impressive stadiums, and once you have digested some of the information we are going to tell you about in this article, you are going to have a whole new level of appreciation for Qatar’s stadiums that was not present before.
Let’s jump straight into it and talk about what you can expect from the World Cup stadiums in Qatar this year.
A Focus On Sustainability
Something that most will find rather positive is that it seems as though Qatar has taken to making its stadiums as environmentally friendly as possible. All of Qatar’s stadiums have solar-powered air conditioning – something that is somewhat unheard of throughout the rest of the entire world.
This is truly going to make a world of difference in overall sustainability, and you would be surprised at just how negative of an impact air conditioning can have on the environment when not powered by sustainable methods. Of course, this likely isn’t going to make much of a difference in the overall viewing experience.
However, this sets an amazing precedent to show that the world really is taking climate change a whole lot seriously, and the entire 2022 FIFA World Cup is going to be much more eco-friendly than ever before.
You can expect every stadium that comes up throughout the World Cup to have sustainability as a focal point, and with the amount of doom-and-gloom we hear about today, this is truly a breath of fresh air.
The Last Time We Will See Them In All Their Glory
For those of you that are not aware, this year is the last year that we are going to be able to see the World Cup stadiums in Qatar in all their glory. By this, we mean that all major stadiums in Qatar are going to go through a massive downsizing in order to give seats to and support sports in developing nations, and the spectator capacity in most Qatar stadiums is going to be nearly halved as a direct result.
This is mainly due to the fact that Qatar has little need for such grandiose stadiums. Qatar has a relatively low population compared to most other nations, and having massive stadiums that they are not even able to fill up is ultimately pointless.
Whilst this may be a little sad, it is for a good cause, and it just means that we have to appreciate the time we have with them all the more this year.
So, are you excited to see the stadiums of 2022? We know we are. The World Cup is one of the most notorious sports events throughout all of history, and it is one of the few times different countries come together and put away their differences to see which one is the best at a certain task.
We can’t wait for this year’s world cup kick-off, and before you leave us; make sure you keep an eye out for those stadiums. Have fun.
