Following the successful Japan Virtual Roadshow in November 2021, last week Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) welcomed wholesalers, suppliers and industry partners to a Japan Networking Lunch held at Saké Restaurant & Bar in The Rocks.

Yoko Tanaka, JNTO Sydney Executive Director, was joined by additional JNTO Sydney representatives, special guest Mr Kiya Masahiko, Consul-General of Japan in Sydney, and a host of local Japanese suppliers and airlines to network with the trade.

JNTO Sydney and local Japanese suppliers were able to connect with Australian wholesalers, tour operators and OTAs in person once again, an opportune networking occasion to discuss, plan and prepare with excitement for the return of Aussie travellers to Japan, when the borders reopen.

Guests were treated to a menu of contemporary Japanese cuisine and a cultural taiko drumming performance from Wadaiko Rindo Sydney, with speeches given by Yoko Tanaka, JNTO Sydney Executive Director, Mr Kiya, Consul-General of Japan in Sydney and Sally Miles, JNTO Business Development & Marketing Senior Assistant Manager.

Yoko Tanaka, JNTO Sydney Executive Director commented, “JNTO was thrilled to engage and reconnect with some of our valued travel industry trade partners in person, as we continue to equip and inspire the Australian travel trade to sell Japan, once international travel resumes to Japan.”
