Probably we all are still confused by the Australian Governments prolonged border closures preventing Foreign Flag ship cruise lines to sail in our waters.

Cruising is happening in the rest of the world with minimum covid situations which are totally under control due to the extensive upgrades and health protocol standards this sector of the travel industry has undergone. The covid outbreaks on land are huge and way beyond anything in numbers that is occurring on ships. The big data globally suggests that Covid transmission onboard ships, even with the current spread of Omicron, is around 0.02%. Further, there is zero evidence that being on a cruise ship increases your chances of getting covid and in fact the evidence supports the opposite conclusion. Everyone on cruise ships are vaccinated, which is more than you know when you go to a shopping centre or anywhere else. Just saying, as our industry is pressuring the Government and States to give us a plan when we can expect our cruise businesses to resume in some format and allow our loyal cruisers to return to their holiday passion.
