World-leading luxury expeditions operator PONANT has introduced a new evacuation and luggage repatriation policy to cover guests travelling on board. PONANT says that recognising the desire to give travellers peace of mind and confidence during the pandemic, it has continued to adapt and optimise its already robust protocol integrating all the technological, human, and material measures to ensure the provision and maintenance of their ‘Anti COVID’ sanitary bubble onboard their small expedition ships.
Further enforcing guests’ existing and mandatory travel insurance, PONANT’s new COVID MUTUAID insurance now offers guests worldwide coverage for medical fees and repatriation home in the case of contracting Covid onboard.
Valued at AUD45 per person, the policy covers only the portion the guest has booked with PONANT, and not any international flights or travel arrangements made separately.
PONANT Asia Pacific General Manager Sales & Marketing Deb Corbett said the new insurance policy was a deliberate next step as the world moves forward in a COVID-safe way, adding, “For PONANT, it’s imperative to ensure guests continue to feel safe and comfortable and this does just that in addition to comprehensive COVID safe measures. With the tools developed by PONANT and the organisation of such a large-scale exercise, the company continues to set new standards of safety at sea, as well as pioneering new ways of exploration”.
PONANT’s new Covid Evacuation and Repatriation insurance policy is commissionable.
