LOCKE TO EXPAND FURTHER INTO EUROPE WITH TWO LANDMARK OPENINGS IN GERMANY IN 2022.
Pioneering lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke is to expand further into Europe with two new German openings in Munich and Berlin in 2022. The opening of WunderLocke in Munich, and Locke at East Side Gallery in Berlin follows on from a successful 2021 for the hybrid hospitality brand, which saw six new openings across London, Cambridge, Dublin and Munich.
Locke elevates the traditional aparthotel model by combining beautifully designed self-contained studio apartments – complete with fully fitted kitchens, living areas and laundry facilities –with dynamic, experiential social spaces typical of a lifestyle hotel. Locke challenges convention by partnering with unique up-and-coming designers and local food and drink partners to give each location its own distinctive character and style.
The 2022 new openings continue the rapid expansion of the home-meets-hotel brand, which has established itself as a leader in the hybrid hospitality movement.

WunderLocke – Sendling, Munich
Opening May 2022
WunderLocke aims to disrupt the Bavarian capital with a hospitality concept unlike any other in the city – and is the first Locke of its kind. The new opening will feature 360 spacious studio apartments, a large co-working area, meeting and event spaces, workout studio and outdoor heated swimming pool; as well as four food and drink destinations conceived by the founders of revered local Michelin-starred restaurant, Mural. The new concept – Mural Farmhouse – will include an urban farm that will supply fresh herbs and vegetables to a farm-to-table concept, and rooftop cocktail bar with panoramic views of the Bavarian Alps. WunderLocke is also home to several suites, which include roof terraces and large dining areas that can host dinner parties and business meetings.
WunderLocke will be a destination for locals, holidaymakers, and business travellers alike, providing a new creative hub in South-West Munich for the city’s burgeoning undercurrent of artists, creatives, and tech entrepreneurs. WunderLocke has been designed by acclaimed studio Holloway Li, which also completed Bermonds Locke in London, in September 2020. The property’s design-led apartments are peaceful, spacious and leafy, and all feature kitchens and seating areas – a hallmark of Locke design.
Locke at East Side Gallery – Friedrichshain, Berlin
Opening July 2022
With breathtaking views overlooking the River Spree and city skyline, Locke at East Side Gallery is situated amongst Berlin’s trendiest inner-city districts Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Mitte.
The new opening will comprise 176 sleek studio apartments, which come equipped with kitchenettes and living areas, and most also have access to a private balcony with either river or skyline views. Locke at East Side Gallery will also feature a complimentary co-working area for guests and locals to enjoy; a third-wave coffee shop; flexible meeting and events space that includes a rooftop terrace; and a 24-hour gym on the eighth floor, with floor to ceiling windows and views overlooking Berlin’s Mediaspree. Locke at East Side Gallery will also house an audiophile bar and restaurant, which will introduce new immersive ways of experiencing music in the German capital.
Designed by Matthew Grzywinski of Grzywinski+Pons, Locke at East Side Gallery takes its design cues from its microlocality – most notably the former Berlin Wall, River Spree, and neighbouring parks. Each apartment combines sophisticated neutral tones, natural textures, and raw concrete with pops of playful colour. Meanwhile, the social spaces on the ground floor will resemble a gallery in recognition of the building’s surroundings.
The Twenty Two
April 2022
The Twenty Two, a new hotel with an all-day public restaurant and a private members’ club,will be opening on the historic Grosvenor Square in London’s Mayfair in Q1 2022. Set within a Grade II listed Edwardian manor at number 22 Grosvenor Square, the building is being redesigned into a Westside hideaway for creative cohorts, local residents and international guests in London. Upon completion, the 42500 sq. ft property will house 31 bedrooms and suites, including a Mews house as well as an all-day restaurant and private members’ club.
The interior design for The Twenty Two is being led by award-winning luxury designer Natalia Miyar and herpractice, based between London and Miami. Complimenting work by French interior designer Bambi Sloan, a consultant on the project, Miyar is working closely with proprietor and creative lead Navid Mirtorabi. The Twenty Two is Miyar’s first hotel project, with each room and public space being expertly decorated in an opulent yet welcoming style.
tommie Hollywood, Los Angeles
Opened December 2021
tommie Hollywood opened in Los Angeles in December 2021, appealing to the modern spirited traveller looking for authenticity, originality, and convenience. Located adjacent to the recently opened Thompson Hollywood as well as iconic city landmarks including the Sunset Strip, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Runyon Canyon, Griffith Observatory and the Capitol Record Building, tommie Hollywood sits at the very nexus of the city’s bustling technology and entertainment industries.
The lifestyle hotel offers 212 guest rooms across nine floors, and more than 15,000 square feet of dynamic food and beverage space including KA’TEEN, the hotel’s feature restaurant by celebrated chef West Avila, and Desert 5 Spot, a 7,000-square-foot rooftop pool and lounge. This highly anticipated project is owned by Relevant Group in collaboration with Steinberg Hart for architecture and interior design from Studio Collective with Ten Five Hospitality managing food and beverage operations.

The Madrid EDITION
Q1 2022
The Madrid EDITION will showcase 200 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites, some with terraces, and five unique food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant, cocktail bar, Sky Bar and rooftop terrace, together with an outdoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and spa. Flexible studios with over 350sqm (3,767 sq ft) of dedicated space will host creative meetings and events for large or small groups. Set in a tranquil square surrounded by historic buildings, The Madrid EDITION is near Puerta de Sol in the heart of the Spanish capital, one of the city’s most famous sites, and within walking distance to The Golden Triangle of Art – three of the most important art museums in Madrid.

The Tampa EDITION
Spring 2022
Opening in Spring of 2022, The Tampa EDITION, situated within the new 56-acre Water Street Tampa neighborhood, will be home to 172 guestrooms and suites and six food and beverage outlets, including a signature restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace. The property will also feature a 204sqm (2,195 sq ft) Penthouse Suite, expansive spa, fitness center and over 550sqm (5,920 sq ft) of flexible meeting and events space.
Bringing some of the world’s best talents together into one project, design is care of the acclaimed New York-based architecture practice Morris Adjmi in collaboration with Florida-based firm Nichols 
Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates; with interiors designed by the renowned Roman & Williams. The hotel is situated within immediate proximity to the best that Tampa has to offer in terms of cultural institutions, entertainment, recreational, dining and shopping options.
The Rome EDITION
Launching Q3 2022
Expected to open early 2022, EDITION Hotels’ first Italian property will feature 95 guest rooms and suites, including a Penthouse suite with a private 130 sqm (1,399 sqft) terrace. The Rome EDITION will offer uniquely designed food and beverage outlets, including a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space that will make locals and visitors fall in love with its cuisine and all that comes with it; a Punch Room Bar with exceptionally crafted cocktails; and a Rooftop Terrace where guests can have the choice of a seasonal bite, a drink overlooking the city, a private gathering with friends, or all of the above. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the refreshingly original property will offer impeccable personalised service in opulent yet cosy surroundings.
Broadwick Soho is a collaboration between long-time friends Noel Hayden, owner of Broadwick Soho and Jo Ringestad, Managing Director of Broadwick Street Holdings. Both have hospitality in their blood; whilst predominantly focussed on a career in fashion, Jo continued to have a hand in his family’s French Riviera hotel, and it was there that he met Noel who had similarly grown up in his parent’s hotel on the English coast, where he long dreamed of opening a luxury hotel in central London.

Kanava Hotels & Resorts, owned by Antonis & Kalia Eliopoulos, the holding and managing company of 5 luxury hotels in the Cyclades islands, is launching a new project on the island of Paros for 2022, that will be part of an international hotel brand. Seafront location on Agioi Anargyroi beach, with its own private beach facilities and at a walking distance from the jewel town of Naoussa, the new property named Cosme, is scheduled to open mid-May 2022 and will be endowed with 40 lavishly appointed suites, while many will be crowned with private pools.
