American Queen says make Christmas 2022 one of the best ever with a festive paddlewheeler journey down America’s iconic Mississippi River, experiencing the timeless traditions of the colourful Cajun and Creole cultures of the deep South and save.
American Queen Voyages has seven Christmas season cruises on the Mississippi in December, 2022, aboard its biggest and smallest river ships – the boutique 166-guest American Duchess and grand 417-guest American Queen – each of them a uniquely American and authentic steamboat paddlewheeler decked out with modern amenities and Christmas decor to get everyone aboard in the ‘holiday’ spirit.
Cruise and stay packages from five to eight nights are available either round-trip from the jazz and blues capital of New Orleans or between New Orleans and Memphis – home of Elvis and other rock’n’roll icons.
Guests will journey through living history and take in the majesty of the mighty Mississippi – one of the world’s great rivers – as well as grand Victorian mansions, historic cotton plantations, centuries-old oak trees, charming river towns, American bald eagles, Civil War battlefields and recording studios that hosted the greats of American music. Shops and streets ashore will flaunt Christmas cheer while onboard, guests can enjoy traditional carols and feasts, Christmas-themed shows, gingerbread decorating and ornament making.
Among the seven festive sailings in December, 2022, is a seven-night cruise and stay package beginning December 17, 2022, with a one-night hotel stay in New Orleans, followed by a six-night, return-trip journey along the Mississippi aboard American Duchess, with meanwhile, an eight-night package on December 18, 2022, aboard the famous American Queen includes a night in Memphis and a seven-night Christmas voyage south to New Orleans.
There’s also a special five-night seasonal sailing round-trip from New Orleans aboard American Duchess on December 23, 2022, including a night in New Orleans and a four-night Mississippi cruise.
Looking further ahead, American Queen Voyages is also offering 12 festive river sailings in December, 2023,
Meanwhile, American Queen Voyages has announced its identical lake and ocean ships, Victory I and Victory II, will be renamed Ocean Voyager and Ocean Navigator, when they re-enter service in January and April, 2022, consecutively, with Ocean Voyager offering coastal Mexico cruises and Ocean Navigator providing journeys through the Great Lakes of North America.
Newly rebranded American Queen Voyages combines the former American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines to offer an extensive and diverse mix of river, lake, ocean and expedition sailings across North and Central America.
