Anangu Communities Foundation, previously known as the Mutitjulu Foundation, was established by Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia in 2003 with a strategic regional focus, encompassing the Anangu communities of Ngaanyatijarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara (NPY) region of central Australia (Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia).
The pivotal role of the Foundation is building community capacity from a strength-based position through funding projects that benefit Anangu communities in the areas of health, education, as well as economic and social participation. The Foundation has been funding critical initiatives such as health and medical facilities and services, cultural and community projects, educational programs for youth, and much more.
With the ongoing help of guests, staff and corporate contributions the Foundation has provided in excess of $1,000,000 for community-initiated projects. Ayers Rock Resort matches all guest contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $200,000 each year.
