Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions is thrilled to announce the mighty Ghan will resume its journeys between Adelaide and Darwin from tomorrow.
To celebrate, all Ghan journeys booked online or through agents from today, will attract savings of up to $1,250 per person. The special fares apply to both Platinum and Gold Service and are available for travel up until 31 July this year.
With more than a 90-year history, The Ghan has weathered challenges including a World War, the Great Depression and various pandemics, and yet returns to the tracks once again taking guests on a remarkable journey through the heart of Australia.
Chief Commercial Officer for Journey Beyond, Peter Egglestone, said the team were excited to be welcoming guests back on board.
“We share the guests’ anticipation for every journey and likewise, the disappointment when we face another suspension due to border closures.
“But our team is expert at rising to a challenge and we are determined to continue to deliver guests unforgettable rail holidays in a time when many have had to change plans or endure lockdowns, so we’re looking forward to that ‘all aboard’ call tomorrow.
“These special fares are ideal for people who can travel at short notice and who may have been dreaming of a Ghan journey for a long time,” Mr Egglestone said.
Journey Beyond has introduced JourneySafe, its new operational plan to further enhance and protect guest wellbeing while travelling. It features measures including additional stringent cleaning and sanitising, new staff training, physical distancing and ‘fit for travel’ checks.
“Our guest and crew wellbeing is imperative and so we’ve worked hard to balance the need to deliver incredible journeys while looking after our people,” Mr Egglestone said.
