For a limited time, Bunnik Tours is offering a selection of Japan Discovery tours throughout 2021 and 2022 at 2020 prices.

Bunnik Tours plans to run 14, 16-day Japan Discovery Tour departures for 2022.

The 16-day Japan Discovery Tour starts in Tokyo and weaves its way south through the mountain city of Matsumoto, the temple city of Nagano and via bullet train to Kyoto, continuing to Hiroshima and finishing in Osaka.

Highlights include sumo wresting demonstrations and a traditional Chanko-Nabe (a sumo hotpot-style stew) lunch at a local restaurant in Tokyo; exploring the narrow streets of Takayama’s beautifully preserved Sanmachi Suji district, lined with wooden Edo-period merchants houses; and sake tasting at a local Kyoto brewery followed by a visit to the tunnel of orange Torii Gates that make up Kyoto’s famous Fushimi Inari shrine.

The itinerary continues on the bullet train to Hiroshima, visiting commemorative sites including the Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome. There’s also a ferry ride to the island of Miyajima and the Shrine of Itsukushima, built on wooden piers over the water.

The tour departs from Osaka, Japan’s second largest city, with an interactive Samurai lesson and Japanese-style group farewell dinner.

Showcasing a diverse range of cities and sights aimed at travel-thirsty Australians, Bunnik Tours prides itself on its small groups and personalised experiences. All tour group sizes are no more than 20 travellers, offering an immersion into cultural experiences, millennia-old ancient treasures and spectacular landscapes.

Tours include flights, all sightseeing, accommodation, many meals and even taxes and tips where appropriate. Departures for 2022 are scheduled to leave from 20 March. Prices start from $10,895pp twin share.
