Europcar Mobillity Group launches the “Together” program to support the mobility of essential services in light of the COVID-19 crisis. http://www.tourismlegal.com.au/As part of this program, the group’s leading car rental brand in Australia Europcar will also work in partnership with food retailers and logistics companies in order to offer a rental service of light commercial vehicles with drivers, to help meet the increased demand for logistics and delivery services in states under lockdown or with stringent social-distancing measures.

All vehicles undergo stringent cleaning and disinfecting measures between each rental.

As part of the “Together” program, Europcar will provide healthcare personnel and other essential services with access to discounted short, medium and long rental solutions for their staff.

This program will be rolled out across Australia, as well as in other countries around the world where Europcar Mobility Group operates with its own subsidiaries. The Group’s car rental brands – Europcar, Goldcar and InterRent – as well as the GoCar car-sharing service will offer healthcare personnel increased mobility and transport possibilities.

Essential services staff and companies who require the use of a rental vehicle will be able to contact selected locations or the customer service centre (see www.europcar.com.au), which will guide them through the process. This offer will be officially launched April 2nd across Australia.

Furthermore, with logistics and delivery services facing unprecedented demand, Europcar will also work in partnership with the food and retail industry and using our own workforce to keep as many employees in work as possible, to provide vans and light commercial vehicles with drivers. Discussions are already taking place with some of the countries’ largest supermarket chains.

Any vehicle, driven under this scheme will be subject to rigorous cleaning and disinfecting measures after each rental, as well as ‘zero contact’ policy with Europcar employees in branches. The same stringent policy applies to rentals of any kind across the Group, until further notice.

Caroline Parot, Chairwoman of Europcar Mobility Group, said:

As a mobility service company, our Group has a 70-year tradition of service to the public and to local and international companies. Throughout this period, we will do everything in our power to pursue this mission and contribute to the solution that will enable us to emerge from this unprecedented crisis. Many economic players hold part of the solution: we are convinced that it is only by working together that we will be able to provide responses that are adapted to the circumstances and in the general interest.

I would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank all our staff in all our countries. They are demonstrating an extraordinary level of commitment and dedication in these troubled times”.

In countries that are not yet in full containment, such as Australia, the Group is supporting regular customers by providing significantly enhanced flexibility (eg: free adjustment on bookings or cancellation, waiving of “Young Driver” fees to make their way home to their family easier…).
