The South Pacific Tourism Organisation congratulates Tourism Solomons Chief Executive Officer and SPTO Board member- Josefa Tuamoto on his appointment to the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) executive board.
“We welcome and fully support Mr. Tuamoto’s appointment. While this is a personal achievement for Jo, and for Tourism Solomons which he heads, it is also a milestone for the region that he has made meaningful contributions to over the past 20 years,” said Mr. David Vaeafe, the Chairperson of the SPTO Board.
“The Pacific tourism sector is fortunate to be represented by someone who is passionate and well-versed in the regional tourism sector. Jo is respected for his knowledge and leadership and involvement in SPTO when he was Deputy Board Chair and currently as a Board member,” said Mr. Vaeafe.
He added that Mr.Tuamoto attended the SPTO Board meeting and South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) held in Auckland New Zealand, “SPTO member countries and private sector member representatives have the privilege of working with Jo in his current capacity and also as the former CEO of Tourism Fiji. “I have no doubt that he will be hearing from us in the coming weeks and months, we look forward to his continued support to the Pacific region as we wish him well in his new role.”
Mr. Tuamoto’s appointment was announced at the recent PATA Annual Summit 2019′ in Cebu, Philippines.
