Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok will mark Loy Krathong on Tuesday, 24 November 2026, with a spectacular fireworks display over the Chao Phraya, riverside dining, Thai performances and live music.
The hotel’s riverfront places guests close to the tradition at the heart of the festival: floating candlelit krathongs on the water. Dining options include a Thai and international buffet at Riverside Terrace and special menus at Baan Phraya, Lord Jim’s and Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie.
From 5:30 to 10:30pm , the celebration begins with a Loy Krathong parade, and long drum procession sets the agenda ahead of the evening reception at The Authors’ Lounge. As dinner unfolds along the river, Thai dancers take the stage, and puppeteers move among the tables. The Nai and Nang Noppamas contestants are introduced, with the winners announced later in the evening. Then Pure The Voice performs as fireworks illuminate the Chao Phraya – a moment guests will want to stay for.
Riverside Terrace, the buffet brings together Thai and international cuisine, from a seafood tower, curries and sushi to Italian dishes. The extensive barbecue selection includes roasted prime beef ribs, whole roasted pig, grilled river prawns, sea bass, and lamb chops. Thai desserts and a live mango sticky rice station complete the spread.
