Gwinganna Retreat & Spa has added two prestigious awards to an outstanding year of international recognition, taking home Best Spa Asia Pacific and Most Sustainable Property or Resort at the 2026 Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Awards.
Set within 200 hectares of Queensland’s Gold Coast hinterland, Gwinganna combines contemporary wellness science, expert guidance and the restorative power of nature. The latest awards recognise its spa and wellness experiences, alongside its longstanding commitment to sustainability and conservation.
“These awards are a wonderful recognition of the passion and dedication of our team, and the philosophy that has guided Gwinganna for two decades,” says General Manager Melanie James.
“We believe exceptional wellness experiences and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. To be recognised for both is particularly meaningful and reinforces our commitment to creating experiences that have a lasting impact on our guests and the natural environment.”
The occasion also celebrated Gwinganna’s partners. Subtle Energies was named Best Spa Skincare Brand, while founder Farida Irani received the Legend Award for her outstanding contribution to the spa and wellness industry. Australian wellness chef and Gwinganna collaborator, Samantha Gowing was also honoured with Best Wellness Cuisine.
The latest honours add to an exceptional year of international recognition for Gwinganna, with multiple accolades across the 2026 World Luxury Hotel Awards, World Luxury Spa Awards and World Spa Awards, alongside a prestigious position in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.
Together, these accolades reflect Gwinganna’s commitment to evidence-based health education, 100% certified organic cuisine, movement, restorative spa therapies and meaningful connection with nature, principles that have remained at the heart of the Gwinganna experience for two decades.
