FCM Travel today announced the creation of a new Head of Content role, appointing Nicola Ping to the position and to the FCM Management Team, effective immediately. Building on FCM’s established content offering, the move reflects its continued commitment to content as a key reason customers choose to do business with FCM, and one of the strongest reasons their travellers book within their programme.
Nicola, who already works closely with FCM customers, will own FCM’s content distribution strategy and lead its execution globally. Collaborating with every FCM discipline, including product, marketing, operations, sales and account management, she will make sure customers get consistent access to content their programmes will actually use across air, hotel and ground in every market FCM operates in.
The appointment is the next step in how FCM organises around content. FCM is aligning its content teams around a “build once, use at scale” approach, built on a single content stack spanning NDC, GDS, direct connect and proprietary tools, sourced and reconciled in one place. For customers, that translates into measurable value. They can save up to 18% on airfares through this multi-source approach. Separately, UK rail split ticketing can save up to 20%, and comparing air and rail side by side helps travellers choose the option that boosts productivity and sustainability in one step.
“Customers are looking for more from their content than choice. They want options that save them money and make life easier for their travellers,” said Melissa Elf, Global Managing Director, FCM Travel. “Nicola has spent much of her time working directly with our customers, so she knows what that looks like in practice. This new role builds on the strong foundations we already have, and will help us take our content further so customers benefit from a simpler, more joined-up experience.”
Nicola brings more than a decade of experience in travel distribution to the role. Before joining FCM’s parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group, in 2019, she delivered the NDC solution for British Airways. She has since helped corporate customers reach all the relevant content, offline as well as in all their booking tools, work for which she received a GBTA WINiT Award in 2024.
“Content is how our customers get real value from their travel programmes, and it’s where FCM can make a real difference. Access to content isn’t the hard part anymore – making sure it keeps working for a programme is,” said Ping. “I’m excited to work with teams across the business to continue building a content approach that is simple, scalable and focused on what customers need, and that keeps paying off long after the deal is signed.”
