EXPO 2027 Belgrade will bring Austrian and Serbian business representatives together in Vienna on 22 October 2026 to explore opportunities for trade, investment and tourism ahead of the first and largest Expo to be held in the Western Balkans. Hosted at the Hilton Vienna Waterfront, the B2B networking event will provide a platform for companies and tourism professionals to establish contacts, explore potential partnerships and build long-term business relationships ahead of the exhibition’s opening on 15 May 2027.
The event will be attended by Igor Kovačević, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Director of the International Participants Department at EXPO 2027 Belgrade; Philipp Gady, Austrian Section Commissioner; and Alf Netek, Deputy Austrian Section Commissioner.
Igor Kovačević said: “EXPO 2027 Belgrade offers Austria an international platform to present its innovative businesses, technological expertise and cultural strengths to a global audience. With more than 800 Austrian companies already operating in Serbia, the exhibition provides an opportunity to build on our strong economic ties and develop long-term partnerships before, during and beyond the event.”
The programme will include opening remarks, a press conference, a business panel discussion featuring key stakeholders, a tourism B2B session and a networking reception.
The tourism session will give Austrian travel industry representatives an opportunity to explore Serbia’s tourism offering, identify potential partners and discuss itineraries combining a visit to EXPO 2027 with experiences elsewhere in the country.
An Established Business Presence, a New International Platform
Austria is one of Serbia’s leading investment partners. According to the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade, Austrian investment in Serbia amounts to approximately €3.5 billion, making Austria the country’s third-largest foreign investor. Around 870 Austrian business establishments in Serbia employ approximately 26,000 people.
Austria will present its pavilion at EXPO 2027 Belgrade under the concept Join the Flow, which places the Danube at the centre of its presentation. The river symbolises the connections between Austria and Serbia and the potential for international exchange and cooperation.
